Then and Now: 120th & Amsterdam 

In 1895, Amsterdam Avenue was the main thoroughfare through Morningside Heights. You can see the roof of Teachers College Main Hall (now known as Zankel) in the background behind the house on the corner. Now, Whittier Hall occupies that corner of 120th St. and Amsterdam Ave.
